Chris Marshall

Founder & CEO

Chris Marshall is a senior higher education advancement professional with 23 years of alumni engagement and fundraising experience.

He spent twelve years leading alumni engagement programs at two top ranked national research universities – Lehigh University (seven years) and Cornell University (five years).

Chris has five years of experience serving as an alumni relations consultant at Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A) where he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director. While at GG+A, Chris led the Alumni Relations practice area and served as a consultant to over 100 clients around the world.

Ryan Catherwood

Executive Vice President & Senior Consultant

Ryan Catherwood serves as Executive Vice President and Senior Consultant at CMAC, and consulting partner with Washburn & McGoldrick LLC. 

Ryan specializes in engagement strategies for volunteer and donor pipeline development that are rooted in a digital-first, content-based approach to advancement in support of education. His clients include Boise State, Duke University, William & Mary, Washington & Lee University, the University of Maryland Alumni Association, and the Indiana University Foundation. 

Ryan lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife and three kids.

Nicole Kempton

Vice President & Senior Consultant

 
 

Nicole Hess Kempton serves as a Senior Consultant with CMAC. Nicole’s areas of specialization include strategic planning, design thinking, board engagement, engagement of under-leveraged groups, and alignment between organizational goals and operations. Nicole is a passionate evangelist for lifelong learning and enjoys “geeking out” on design thinking techniques and innovation in the higher education sector.

Prior to joining CMAC, Nicole held a variety of roles in alumni engagement and development at Duke University, managing strategic planning efforts, alumni/student engagement programs, regional alumni communities, graduate and professional school engagement, and more. She served as Chief of Staff for the alumni engagement and development department and was the staff lead on a Board of Trustees task force examining the future of global alumni engagement at Duke.

Patrick Auerbach

Vice President & Senior Consultant

Patrick Auerbach is a seasoned non-profit executive and higher education administrator with nearly three decades experience leading strategic, innovative and mission-driven programs in community and institutional impact, audience building, volunteer leadership, development and engagement, fundraising andconstituent relations.

In December 2023, Auerbach completed a 23.5-year tenure at the University of Southern California during which he served for 11 years as Associate Senior Vice President for Alumni Relations, managing all operations of the USC Alumni Association and serving as the University’s chief alumni relations officer to engage the Trojan Family’s diverse alumni constituency of over 480,000 worldwide members.

Barney Ellis-Perry

Vice President & Senior Consultant

Barney Ellis-Perry, brings over thirty years of experience in advancement in support of his client’s needs.  Always curious about what could be, Barney has often found himself at the intersection of innovation and pragmatic strategy. Obsessed by impact metrics, personalized engagement technology and the power of high performing teams, Barney enjoys working with clients on the art of the possible. 

As an innovator Barney has contributed to the development of many important ideas in higher education advancement, from alumni engagement outcome metrics, to dual goal campaigns to the current move to meaningfully integrate alumni engagement and annual giving. 

Barney’s approach to consulting is grounded in his work on the front lines of fundraising and engagement in both higher education and healthcare. Currently Barney is CEO of the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation.

Scott Greenwood

Vice President & Senior Consultant

 
 

Scott Greenwood brings over 30 years of higher education experience to his role as a consultant for CMAC. Scott has an extensive background in all aspects of higher education including student affairs, academic affairs, development, and alumni engagement. In addition, he has worked in a variety of different educational setting ranging from small private to large public universities - including several of the leading research institutions in the world. 

Scott, who is currently the Associate Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Development and Interim Chief Engagement Officer for Duke University, brings a good understanding of the importance of all types of institutions as well as a deep knowledge of the unique ways each of the areas in higher education work with one another.

Cynthia Khoo-Robinson

Vice President & Senior Consultant

 
 

Cynthia Khoo-Robinson joins CMAC with 30+ years of advancement experience. She is an accomplished advancement professional having served mission-driven institutions and causes, with an incredible passion for philanthropy. She is highly skilled in developing and cultivating authentic relationships with alumni, volunteer leaders, donors and prospective benefactors that lead to advancing an institution’s goals and overall mission.

Most recently, she served the University at Buffalo (UB) as Associate Vice President of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving. Cynthia served as a senior leader within the advancement division, managing a team of 20+ fundraisers and advancement professionals in her two departments.

Kim Infanti

Digital Growth Strategist

 
 

Kim Infanti joins CMAC with more than a decade of experience in higher ed communications, specializing in digital strategies to engage alumni audiences. Kim oversees communications to Syracuse University alumni as an executive director in Syracuse University’s Office of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving.

Kim started her career in higher education facilitating student and alumni connections in Syracuse University's central Career Services office, then transitioned to alumni communications in 2015. Kim spent the first part of her career as a television reporter and anchor.

Digital engagement is Kim’s passion, and she takes pride in identifying creative ways to keep alumni connected to their alma mater.
